Orders over £70  Free of charge (in UK only)

NB: All charges are based on weight.  
The weight of packaging will be considered too: the cart does the calculations and estimates the postage threshold.


UK Postal charges (including the Channel Islands): 

Up to 2 kilo:    £4.75

up to 4 kilo     £7.75

Up to 6 kilo    £10.75

However, note that orders over £70 in value in the UK are free of these postage fees 


European postal charges - regretably as of 17th March 2020 we are not posting to Europe because of the problems created by the Corona Virus

All orders are posted with a certificate of posting via the Post Office.  The shipping for orders over £70 will be free of charge.   Orders over 2 kilos in weight are sent in more than one parcel for insurance purposes.   Where possible I will discretionally refund part postage on orders that I can send by letter post.  However the refund is now much reduced as both Paypal and Stripe now withhold all their fees for refunds, and this is passed to the customer.

Ocassionally parcels over 2 kilos are sent by courier and have tracking, but will not require a signature (unless a customer specifically requests this and pays for it). However, once the courier states on tracking that the parcel is 'delivered to customer' then the contract with ClayAround is ended.

Orders are packed in recycled materials where possible to reduce costs and to save the planet!

Ensure that you are available to receive the goods.  Alternatively ensure that you give instructions as to where goods can be left safely. 

We take care when packing your order.  If it appears damaged do not accept the package.  Kindly notify us immediately. We will not take responsibility for damaged parcels that have been accepted as the insurance company will not be liable.

When signing for goods, sign as 'unexamined' as we cannot take responsibility for compensation in the event of a claim against the carrier.  You are advised to keep the packing material were there cause for such a claim. 

Contact us if your parcel does not arrive.  Royal Mail classes an order as lost in the UK if it does not arrive within 14 working days of date of despatch.  After this time we can send you a replacement or give you a refund.  Couriers will not investigate a lost parcel after 7 days so we must be informed within that time if it is not received. 

If a parcel does not arrive in Europe ClayAround will investigate after 21 days, in the UK.   However, ClayAround will not take responsibility once parcels have left the UK due to the vagaries of different postal systems.  



If goods supplied are incorrect or damaged a full refund, including postage costs, will be made on receipt of the returned goods. However, if you change your mind, or if the goods when returned are found not to be incorrect (ie you have had trouble conditioning clay but on testing is found to be quite satisfactory) then your money will be refunded minus the postage and the fees from the payment gateway.

Kindly check your clay when you receive it.  If you consider it not to be satisfactory, then kindly return it within 14 days.  The clay we stock is held in a cool environment and is in good condition when it is sent to you.  Therefore we cannot accept returns of clay that you have held for longer. 

When returning goods ensure that you include your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.  Kindly also include details of your full order too. 

If you change our mind and/or cancel your order (up to 7 working days from placing your order) let us know in writing (by letter or email) including your name, postal address and telephone number.  The cost of returning the goods will be your responsibility.  Only if the goods are returned undamaged and packs unopened and in saleable condition will you receive a full refund of the cost of the products (but not the shipping costs). 

A refund, if you change your mind or cancel, does not apply, however, to goods purchased by us specifically for you, or for any sale goods.
